Chaminda Vaas became the third player to take a hat-trick in a WC game. He removed Sarkar, Ashraful and Ehsanul Haque to the first three balls of the game. It still remains the only time that this has happened in an ODI.
Sourav Ganguly struck the most number of sixes in a single edition of the WC. He blasted 15 in 11 games.
